If you follow this site (and I hope you do), then you know I live in a beach community on Florida’s Gulf Coast, west of Tampa/St. Petersburg. The Gulf is 100 yards from my front door, and so is a lovely sugar-sand beach I enjoy walking on most every day.
One of the joys of strolling the shore is viewing all the boys form our nearby colleges, who run around in swim trunks and little else.
Who wouldn’t enjoying looking at the guys in today’s photo posts, and watching them toss a football or a Frisbee while their muscles flex under their smooth skins. Ah, the beauty of youth …. 😉
I spent a delightful evening yesterday with a guy I met in an online dating app. He was born in Chicago, but is of southeast Asian descent, and quite handsome. We had such a fun time together, and I’m looking forward to seeing him again when I return to Florida.
I’m devoting today to packing for my three-week stay in Montana and Wyoming. Our flight leaves in mid-morning tomorrow, and I’m so damned excited I’m about to pee in my pants. It will be so nice to enjoy sunny and cool weather, and the thought of hiking among snow-capped mountains has me drooling. I have never been to Montana, and I already know I will love it there. My friend Bill and I have some lodgings reserved where we can cook meals and get to hiking trails easily.
I will post once more this evening. Then you won’t be hearing from me until I return to Florida in mid-July. Have a great Monday, everyone.
It’s Father’s Day, and while my relationship with my father sucked, I suppose for many people today is a time to celebrate their dads’ kindnesses. Also, yesterday I put up two posts about young guys who have a thing for older men. The posts drew a lot of comments, including this one from Kyle:
“Hi, Martin. I guess you’d call me a daddy lover. I’m 21. I met my partner, Eugene, two years ago, and we have lived together since then. Some people think it’s weird that I like a man thirty-five years older than me, but I don’t find it strange at all. I’m totally comfortable with the situation. Eugene’s maturity and wisdom give me a solid foundation I never had in my youth, plus he’s so sweet. I could not ask for more.”
Kyle sounds awfully sweet himself, don’t you think?
I spent a lovely night at home by myself yesterday. I dined on a tasty baked chicken breast and an avocado/spinach salad. I watched a nice Netflix movie, then relaxed on my back porch with a glass of white wine. The air was cool and damp, and my patio fountain gurgled pleasantly. 🙂
It’s another overcast day, here on the island, which I am fine with. The clouds keep things cool. I have an afternoon date coming over here from Tampa around three PM, and I will take a two-mile run before he gets here.
I wrote this morning about daddy lovers in the gay subculture, and for my money, if I wanted a daddy’s boy, I’d choose Gavin Casalegno, whom you see here to the left. Imagine snuggling under the bed covers with him every night? Aye-yi-yi, he’s a total babe. 😉
I once wrote a short story called Daddy Lover. It appears in my anthology titled Boys Who Love Men, and here’s what the plucky main character, Bradley, says about his sexual tastes:
“I’m nineteen and queer, but I’m not attracted to guys my age. I find them shallow and insubstantial. Straight boys are fixated on sports and pussy, gay boys upon
wardrobe and hair style. My taste runs to mature men, fellows in their forties and fifties with salt and pepper hair, guys with baritone voices who speak with a confidence
only experience imparts.
“Yeah, I’m a daddy lover; I don’t know why, maybe ’cause I grew up without a father.
Pop, you bastard, how come you deserted me and Mom?”
Well, I had a good day. I got a lot of things done around here, as I prepare to leave for three weeks. And I took a three-mile walk on the beach. Now it’s 6:30 PM, and I’m about to throw a chicken breast in the oven. I’ll team it with a spinach and avocado salad, and probably watch a Netflix movie while I dine.
A lot of people are unaware of the fact that a certain percentage of young gay men don’t like guys their own age. They prefer men in their 50’s and up, and I call them “daddy lovers”. There’s even a website dedicated to these young men called Silverdaddies. I’ve met plenty of young men through that site, some of whom I still see once in a while.
I think these intra-generational relationships are becoming more common in the gay subculture, and that’s certainly welcome news for me, since I prefer the company of men younger than me. 😉
I spent a delightful evening at home, yesterday, dining on leftovers and watching the last half of a Netflix rental, The Reader, which is one hell of a film. Then I sat on my back porch and enjoyed the cool evening breeze before hitting the bed around 11:30.
To the left is a nugget of Daddy Wisdom I think every young gay man should read and take to heart. Don’t be afraid to take chances, guys. I believe it was Oscar Wilde who wrote, “In the end, the things we regret the least are what we once thought were our biggest mistakes.”
It’s actually a pleasant day outside this morning because there’s a nice breeze blowing and it doesn’t feel so stinking hot. I think the humidity’s down some, and we have some cloud cover too.
I have an easy day ahead of me. I have a minor painting project, and some correspondence to take care of. I want to take a two-mile run, here on the island, and also take a three-mile walk on the beach. I may have a date tonight, that’s in the works. But mostly I’m going to savor the last days I am spending at my home before I leave for the Far West for three weeks.
Well, if you liked the “guys in boardshorts” photos I posted here this morning, then I know you’ll enjoy the one to the left here. I could follow him down the sidewalk all day long. 😉
I’ve had a good day. Despite rising later this morning, I had a god workout at the YMCA, and I ran a couple of errands on the way home. Then I spent two hours doing yard work, since the sky was overcast and it wasn’t so stinking hot outside. Now my patios and yard are looking nice and neat, and I feel like I did some good out there.
I have nothing planned for tonight, other than dining on leftovers and watching the last part of a Netflix rental. And I am fine with that. I’ve had a busy week, and come Tuesday, I’ll be out of Florida for three weeks. So I’ll enjoy my last few days at home.
I live in a beach community, so I spend a lot of time at the shore, and I pay attention to what guys are wearing when they visit here. For years, boardshorts were all the rage. They originated, of course, in the surfing subculture, but then everyone was wearing them. I think U.S. guys liked them because they covered up a lot of flesh. (We are so modest here.) But maybe three years ago, I noticed a lot of young men were trending toward shorter suits with elastic waist bands, which show off more leg.
I will always have a place in my heart for boardshorts, not only because I surf, but because boardshorts show off a guy’s butt like no other clothing item, other than a jock strap. I mean, look at the upper photo, then tell me if your gaze doesn’t immediately travel to the young man’s rear end. And what a lovely butt he has. 😉
I slept in late this morning, I think because I was tired from the medical procedure I had performed yesterday afternoon. But I feel rested and ready for an easy Friday.
Forty-five minutes from now, I will climb into my Element and drive into the city to visit the YMCA to swim a 1/4-mile in the pool, then do a workout in the fitness center. I have a few errands to run on my way home, and then I’ll stay put for the evening. I have leftovers for my dinner and a Netflix movie to watch, and maybe I’ll visit my timeshare down the road to swim in the pool if it’s not storming tonight like it has the past few days.
All right, everyone, I need to get busy, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a wonderful Friday and a great weekend. Keep smiling, it’s important. 🙂
Have a look at the photo to the left, then tell me you wouldn’t take out a second mortgage on your house to spend one night with Gavin. Aye-yi-yi, he is stunning, isn’t he?
I had a great evening in the city. I arrived at my friend’s earlier than usual. I brought my running clothes and shoes, and I took a two-mile run at a park near his house. A light rain fell, which made things perfect–cool and damp. I grabbed a shower, then we shared a few beers before dining on Mexican takeout, very tasty.
Look, I have known my friend since I was eight years old. We attended grade school, high school and college together. And he lived with me when I was in law school. It’s hard to beat spending time with old friends, they are the best.
I’m home now, listening to Steve Earle’s latest album, mostly songs I heard him perform last Saturday in Clearwater. I am so lucky to have the life I do. It’s raining here tonight, which cools things off around here. I may sit on my back screened porch for a while, to listen to the rain. It’s so soothing.
Good night, everyone. And, Gavin, call me if you’re lonely. I’ll be here. 😉
When it comes to beautiful young men, it’s hard to find a sexier guy than Gavin Casalegno, whose photos I’ve posted here. He has amazing skin and hair, and just the right amount of muscle on his slender frame. And he owns the most beautiful blue eyes. He is, really, “the whole package.”
Well, I had a nice little date this morning with a young Chinese man, who spent a couple of hours with me. This was our first meeting but it won’t be the last. He was sweet, sexy, and very bright (as in electrical engineer).
Now I have a busy afternoon ahead of me. At noon, I’ll drive 45 minutes northward for an lengthy appointment that will last till about four PM. Then I’ll drive to my friend’s house in the city, where I will take a two-mile run. Then I’ll spend the evening with my friend, drinking a few beers and dining on takeout. I’ll drive back to the island around 8:30 PM, and maybe I’ll watch a movie.
All right, everyone, I need to get busy, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a wonderful Thursday, wherever you might be today. And keep smiling, it’s important.
Do you find the young man to the left here as appealing as I do? The photo to the left was one of a series he posted online that became a huge hit through Tumblr, but then Tumblr banned X-rated materials and his photos disappeared. Some were quite explicit, and oh-so-sexy. Censorship sucks, doesn’t it?
I had a great lap-swimming session and workout at the YMCA, and on the way home I hit the supermarket to replenish my fridge and cupboards. Once I got home, I put everything away and then I made a series of phone calls to friends about my upcoming trip out west. Now, I’m enjoying a cold beer and ready for an easy night.
I have no concrete plans, other than dining on tasty leftovers and maybe visiting my timeshare down the street for a dip in the pool. Have a nice Wednesday evening, everyone.
When it comes to male beauty, it’s hard to find a sexier guy than fashion model Kline Barfield, whose photos you see here this morning. He’s about as close to perfection as one kind find. I don’t know the first thing about his personal and/or professional life, but I hope he has a nice boyfriend. 😉
My friend and I had a great time last night, with a tasty meal at Ruth Chris before we watched the film Aladdin. It’s a very well done movie, with great music and dancing, a lot of humor, and the usual special effects.
By the time I got home it was close to ten PM. I poured myself a glass of wine and climbed into bed with a book, and it wasn’t long before I was in snooze land for the night.
I was up at about nine this morning, feeling rested and ready for my day. After a quick breakfast, I got busy with travel preparations for my upcoming trip to Montana and Wyoming. My friend and I are mostly staying in vacation rentals so we can prepare our own meals. We’ll spend three weeks out there, hiking and sightseeing in the national parks.
I have never been to Montana, and I’m excited to see the state’s natural beauty and to meet its people. Fortunately my friend knows the area well, and we will most certainly cover a lot of ground while we are out there. It’s always fun going places you have never visited in the past.
Anyway, tonight I’ll begin the initial stages of packing for the trip. I need to take cold weather clothing because temperatures vary widely in the upper northwest, and we’ll be outdoors much of the time.
I’m off to the YMCA in about 45 minutes, to swim my laps and work out. Not much planned for my evening, other than packing for the trip. Have a nice Wednesday, friends.
