Best friends, sharing life ….

Hi, friends and readers:

When you are a teenage boy, the most important person in the world, if you are lucky, is your best friend. He’s the guy you can share your deepest secrets with, someone who is always there for you.

When I was in my mid-teens, my best friend was named Curtis. We lived two blocks form each other, and we were inseparable, both at school in our neighborhood. We didn’t have a sexual relationship–I was gay and Curtis was straight–but we always respected each other and relied upon each other.

My high school reunion is a week from today, and Curtis is flying into town with his wife to attend. It’s been about two years since I have seen Curtis, and I’m excited. We’ll have drinks at the reunion, then we’ll visit a nearby restaurant for dinner. We’ll catch up on things and have ourselves some laughs, remembering all the silly thing we did as kids. 🙂

Yesterday, I had a very pleasant evening with my current best friend, who I’ve known since third grade. We drank a few beers and dined on Greek cuisine. But I was tired from my labors at my vacation rental, and I was home by nine PM. I spent some time editing my novel-in-progress before hitting the bed with a book. I was asleep by 10:30, and I slept until 9:30 this morning.

In a couple f hours, I will drive over to Tampa airport, to pick up my little boyfriend who is spending the weekend with me at the beach. It should prove to be an interesting couple of days, as he’s an adventurous lad. 😉

All right, everyone, I have a few chores to perform before I drive to Tampa, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a wonderful Friday. And if you have a best friend you have not seen in a while, give him a call. He’ll love you for it. 🙂
