Here’s another one of my favorite BMX bicycle photos I want to share with you this evening. I find the picture fascinating. It’s hard to tell how old the boy is because although his face looks young, he has a muscular body. He could be fifteen or he could be eighteen. Anyway, it looks like he’s riding his bike in a fairly remote place. Maybe he lives with his family on a farm or ranch in the western U.S.? And what do you suppose he’s looking at? Like all good photos, it asks more questions than it answers.
Despite my mostly useless left hand, I got a lot done on editing my friend’s scholarly book, and I am close to 25% through it after spending several hours on it today. It’s a slow-moving process, as this is a 450-page document, all single-spaced, but I’m working through it, and I know I will feel good when I finish, probably in about ten days if I keep at it.
I’m having a friend over to share a bottle of wine in just a little bit, and then I will get my dinner going–ground sirloin steak, half a baked potato, and frozen veggies. It may not sound too exciting, but I’m looking forward to it, and maybe I will finish watching the boring French Netflix movie I started last night.
I have never been to a BMX track to watch the guys do tricks on their bikes, but looking at the photo to the left, I think maybe I should.
My first partner and I lived in a nice residential neighborhood near downtown St. Petersburg for many years. The area was populated mostly by families with multiple kids, and our brick streets were often crowded with boys in on their BMX bikes. They were good kids, we knew most all of them and their parents, and the riders never caused any trouble; they were just having fun. However, none of dressed as provocatively as the guy to the left here. 😉
Last night, I dined on steamed mussels and clam sauce I teamed up with whole wheat pasta and a spinach/avocado salad. The food was delicious, but I can’t say the same for the gay-themed, French film I watched via Netflix streaming. I don’t mind subtitles at all, but the film’s pacing was…slow as molasses in January.
Okay, this guy to the left here looks more like your typical BMXer, and I think he’s kind of cute in a rough-around-the-edges sort of way. I like his shaggy hair and lean build. I wonder if he’s a trouble-maker? He looks like he might be, or at least a risk-taker.
Today will be much like the past several since my surgery, meaning I won’t be doing much because my hand has to heal. I’ll do more editing on my friend’s book and do a little reading from my Red Cloud history book. I have one errand to run, and that’s about it. By now, I’ve performed every household task that needed done. So I’ll just take it easy and try not to get restless, which is hard because I’m normally very active.
All right, everyone, I hope you enjoyed today’s photo posts, and wherever you happen to be right now, I hope you’ll have a wonderful Tuesday. And keep smiling, it’s important. 🙂
