Like I said this morning, swimming pools mean a lot to us Floridians, especially during heat waves like we are experiences right now. Plus, there’s nothing better than gazing at a slender young man in a Speedo-style suit. Who could resist the boy in the photo to the left? Not me …. 😉
The weather was so stinking hot today that I stayed inside in the a/c most all day. I worked intensely on final revisions to my novel-in-progress, and I hope to submit it to my publisher this week, maybe by Wednesday.
I’ll spend a quiet evening at home tonight. I have plenty of leftovers from my date/dinner Friday night, and a Netflix movie to finish watching, so I’ll be good. It’s nice and cool in my place, and I have a tasty bottle of Sauvignon blanc to enjoy with my evening meal.
Here in central Florida, we love our swimming pools, especially during summer when the average high temperature reaches 90 degrees and the humidity makes things muggy. A pool is about the only comfortable place you can find outdoors. Plus sometimes the sights at certain pools can be lovely.
Wouldn’t you like to take a swim with on the guys in today’s photo posts? Pool side, you could rub sunscreen onto their backs and shoulders while trying to coax them up to your hotel room. Yummy …. 😉
I spent a thoroughly pleasant evening with one of my oldest friends. We visited a beach bar to listen to a live band who were really good. I drank a coupe of beers while there. Then we returned to my friend’s house, where he cooked up a steak and twice-baked potatoes I’d brought. He also sauteed fresh asparagus, which made for a tasty meal. Afterward, we did some more planning for the Montana/Wyoming trip we’ll make later this month, and then I drove home. I savored a glass of wine on my back porch, and by midnight I was in bed, snoozing away.
It’s another scorching hot day, here on the island. These abnormally high temperatures, teamed with a total lack of rainfall, is making me depressed. It’s too damned hot to do anything outdoors, other than soak in a swimming pool. So, maybe I’ll do that this this afternoon or this evening.
