Hot boys with tattoos; easy Friday in store for Martin ….

Hi, friends and readers:

I’m not a huge fan of tattoos, or “body art” as it’s referred to by many. I suspect these young guys are going to regret their decisions to get inked multiple times, later in life, when their muscles shrink and their skin sags. But I guess I’m sounding like a codger, and that’s not good.

In any event, I think the guys n today’s photo posts are pretty damned sexy, despite their tattoos, so I’ll overlook the body art and enjoy the guys’ appeal. Yummy …. 😉

I had a nice evening with my friend yesterday. The weather was nice when we sat on his outdoor deck and enjoyed the beauty of his garden. Then we dined on Greek cuisine. Again, yummy …. 🙂

I had one of those weird sleep nights. I went to bed around eleven, then woke about four AM. I knew right away I’d be up for a while, so I poured myself a glass of wine and read a book for about 90 minutes. Then I slept until almost eleven AM.

By the way, do you find the young man to the left here as appealing as I do. Yeah, I know he’s slender, but I like slender, as long as the guy has broad shoulders like our friend here. Again, I could do without the tats,  but I love his smooth skin and lanky limbs. I wonder if he has a boyfriend?

I have an easy day ahead of me. After lunch, I’ll hit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming session. I’ll get a haircut and visit the hardware store and supermarket on my way home. Not sure what I’ll do with my Friday night, but I honestly don’t care. The rest of my weekend will be busy, so staying at home tonight is fine with me.

Have a nice Friday, everyone.

More of Matt Meola; productive day for Martin ….

Hi, friends and readers:

I just know you guys loved the Matt Meola photos I put up this morning, so I’m giving you two more this evening. Sadly, nowadays Matt has a long beard that hides his handsome face, and it’s not becoming. Matt, take more care with your appearance, please. Don’t take your good looks for granted. And put up some new photos on Instagram after you shave. 😉

I had a super-productive day. I did 2-1/2 hours of solid editing. Then, after lunch, I got busy. I paid bills and made phone calls. I ran a load of laundry and folded it all and put things away. I cleaned my refrigerator, my kitchen surfaces, and my kitchen floor. I replaced the light in my oven that had burned out, and I washed my duvet cover and put it back on the duvet. I even worked on some plants on my back porch that needed trimming. Lastly, I ran two miles in the heat. (I love my new Asics shoes.)

In a few minutes, I’ll climb into the shower and get myself ready t head into the city for “boys night out” with my best friend. Have a nice Thursday night, friends.

Sexy Matt Meola; another steamy day on the island ….

Hi, friends and readers:

The beautiful guy you see in today’s photo posts is Matt Meola, one of the world’s best surfers. Matt lives on Maui, in the Hawaiian Islands. The photos were taken several years ago, when Matt looked his best. Unfortunately, like a lot of straight guys, he hasn’t taken care of his appearance in recent years, and doesn’t look nearly as good as he once did. 🙁

Anyway, there’s a button in the sidebar to the right with another photo of Matt, and the caption “Martin’s Favorite Surfer.” Click on it, and you can watch Matt’s surfing abilities and also savor his beauty. What a babe …. 😉

Well, I woke a little before eight this morning, and I got right out of bed without a problem, for the first time in many weeks. Maybe whatever bug has been causing me to sleep ten hours each night has finally left my body. I sure hope so.

Anyway, after breakfast I got busy with revisions to my novel-in-progress, which is close to completion. I worked steadily for 2-1/2 hours, and now the time’s close to eleven AM.

Outside, it’s hot and humid, but at least there’s a nice sea breeze blowing. I hope it keeps up so it’ll help keep me cool when I run two miles this afternoon. I have some indoor household projects I will work on, and I have correspondence to take care of, so I’ll stay busy.

Since today is Thursday, I’ll be driving into the city around 5:30 PM, to spend the evening with my closest friend. It’s a weekly ritual I always enjoy, and I know my friend does to. 🙂

Have a nice Thursday, everyone.

Another sexy guy in a ball cap; Martin’s tired ….

Hi, friends and readers:

Here’s another cute guy in a ball cap, and for the record, his name is Cameron Dallas. Yeah he’s handsome and has a great athletic body, but he’s also one of the biggest douche bags ever to gain popularity on Instagram and Vines; he’s utterly without talent, and five years from now, no one will remember him.

I’ts been a long day for me. The drive over to Tampa wasn’t too bad, but then I had an hour’s wait at my doctor’s office. Then, when I left the office, I got caught in a massive traffic snarl that I was finally able to escape after some clever maneuvering. Back in St. Petersburg, I visited a running shoe store to buy a new pair of Asics shoes (only brand I will buy), and then I ate lunch from a cooler I’d packed, under a shade tree at the YMCA. After eating, I worked out at the Y, and then I drove home.

It’s very warm here today, and my car air conditioning is not blowing as cold as it normally does. It probably needs a Freon boost, so I scheduled a service appointment at the dealer for next Thursday.

Now it’s five PM, and I am tired. I’ll drink a few beers and do a bit of editing on my novel-in-progress. I have tasty leftovers for my dinner, and a nice bottle of white wine to savor. Ah, quiet evenings at home …. 🙂

Have a nice Wednesday night, friends.

Sexy guys in ball caps; run-around day for Martin ….

Hi, friends and readers:

Last night, I spent several pleasurable hours with a good friend. We visited a downtown brewery for a tasty craft beer, then dined on Mexican fare before driving to Tropicana Field to watch the Rays lose to the Dodgers. The crowd was larger than normal due to all the Dodger fans in attendance. Okay, the Rays lost, but if you like the look of young men in ball caps, the game was an eye candy feast. Tons of guys in their late teens and early twenties, milling around in shorts and baseball jerseys, and wearing baseball caps. I was in heaven. 🙂

I’m up early this morning, and feeling rested after a good night’s sleep. I got to bed a little after midnight and slept until 8:30. I made a light breakfast and brewed coffee, and soon I will hit the road.

Isn’t the guy to the left here cute? I love his smile and his blue eyes. I wonder if he has a boyfriend?

I’m having day surgery on my left hand in mid-July, and I’m meeting with my doctor in Tampa this morning, to go over things. It’s an easy trip over there, and I should be out of the clinic by 11:30. I’m bringing my lunch with me in an ice cooler, and I’ll find a shady spot to enjoy it. Next, I’ll visit an athletic shoe store in northeast St. Pete to buy a new pair of running shoes. My old ones are more than two years old and the cushioning in them has worn out. Then I will visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming session.

By the time I get home, it’ll be close to four PM, and then I’ll spend a quiet evening at my place. I’ll probably spend an hour up on my deck, watching the sailboats cruise by, before enjoying a tasty dinner.

All right, everyone, I need to get ready to hit the road, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a wonderful Wednesday. And keep on smiling, it’s important. 🙂

Sexy Kevin Keirmaier; baseball on tap for Martin tonight ….

Hi, friends and readers:

As mentioned in this morning’s post, a friend and I are having an early dinner, then attending a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game, in downtown St. Petersburg. The Rays are playing the L.A. Dodgers, which rarely happens, so I’m eager to see how things shake out. I’m also excited about seeing my favorite Rays player, Kevin Keirmaier, whose photo you see above. He’s a fine ball player, and cute as hell. (Sadly, I believe he’s married.) 🙁

Anyway, it should be a fun evening. I’ll have to eat some roasted peanuts and drink a beer or two at the game. 🙂

Have a god Tuesday evening, friends.

Martin’s short novel, “Love Quest”, and a nice message from a reader ….

Hi, friends and readers:

Back in 2011, Noble Romance Publishing released my short novel, Love Quest. Here’s the book’s blurb:

“Eighteen year old Jamie Bliss ages out of the foster care system, a victim of repeated sexual abuses. After hustling tricks and living on the street for a time, Jamie enters into a pair of abusive relationships before meeting Evan and Frederick, a gay couple who become Jamie’s mentors. Can they help Jamie overcome his destructive past? His low self esteem? And when Evan introduces Jamie to Evan’s colleague, Jack, a young school teacher who pursues Jamie’s affection, can Jamie open his heart to Jack? Despite the bad cards life has dealt Jamie, is he still capable of love?”

When Noble Romance folded in late 2012, I had Love Quest re-published through Amazon’s Createspace, and it continues to sell decently today.

Yesterday, I received a message from a man who’d just finished reading Love Quest. He said this:

“Your book really hit home for me because I grew up in foster care, and I was also a victim of sexual abuse, although nothing as bad as poor Jamie endured. Like Jamie, I grew to distrust people, particularly when it came to romantic relationships. I always asked myself, ‘What’s this guy want from me?’

“Anyway, I’m a strong person, and after foster care, I worked full time as a restaurant server and went to community college part time, and I earned an A.A. degree. Then I got my B.A. from the state university’s local campus. Now I teach middle school.

“The luckiest day of my life was when I met my partner, quite by accident, at a teachers’ conference. We’ve been together six years and I love the guy to death. So, my personal ‘love quest’ had a happy ending.

“Thanks for writing Love Quest.

Wow, it’s always nice when someone tells me one of my books meant something special to them. That message made my day.

It’s a steamy day, here on the island. I’m hiding out in the a/c and working hard on edits for my novel-in-progress. I have a few errands to run this afternoon. Then tonight, I’m having beers and dinner with a good friend, and we’ll attend a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game. The Rays are playing the L.A. Dodgers, who I have never seen in person before. Both teams are having great seasons so far, and hopefully tonight’s game will be a close contest.

Have a nice Tuesday, everyone.

Message from another gay skateboarder; quiet Monday night in store for Martin ….

Hi, friends and readers:

Well, the message from skateboarder Bryce that I posted this morning has generated a lot of response, including this one from a boy named Kolton:

“Hi, Martin. I’m 15 and live in Southern Cali, near San Diego. I feel sorry for the guy named Bryce who wrote you about getting rejected by his friend. I skate and I’m gay but it hasn’t been a problem for me. I told several friends, including one I skate with, and it hasn’t been a problem. I guess the difference is I live in a city not a small town in Utah. Anyway, tell Bryce to hang tough and he can skate with me any day. I like your blog, keep it up.”

Well, I think it was nice of Kolton to write. When I was fifteen (a hundred years ago), I never would have dreamed of telling anyone I was gay, not even my best friend. But times have clearly changed, and I’m glad boys like Kolton don’t have to feel ashamed of their sexuality.

It’s going to be quiet evening for me. I had a good workout at the YMCA but the pool was too crowded for me to swim, so I walked a mile on the treadmill and then came home. Have a nice Monday night, everyone.

Photos of sad boys; message from an unhappy gay skateboarder ….

Hi, friends and readers:

I normally post upbeat photos of smiling, sexy guys enjoying life. Hey, that’s what this site’s supposed to be about. But yesterday, I received a message from a boy named Bryce, age 16, who lives in a small town in Utah, he didn’t say exactly where. Here’s some of what Bryce wrote:

“Hi, Martin. I found your website by Googling the words “gay skateboarder”, and I came across a bunch of old posts about gay guys who skate. I didn’t find any recent ones, but reading the ones I found helped me feel better about myself.

“I realized I was gay about two years ago, but I kept my feelings to myself. The town I live in is heavily Mormon and real conservative. Gay sexuality is frowned upon.

“Anyway, I developed a deep crush on a guy in my neighborhood, and a few days ago, I made the mistake of telling him how I felt. Let’s just say things didn’t go well. He told me he’d keep my secret to himself, but also said I shouldn’t speak to him anymore, that he found my feelings for him creepy.

“I feel awful, now. And lonely, too. I wish I could run away to someplace where gay men are accepted, but I have to finish high school. I know it’s important. Thanks for reading this message.”

I responded to Bryce privately, and I sure hope he’ll be okay, but I find it so depressing that in this day and age, gay boys and men still feel the sting of discrimination, especially boys who are stuck in situations like Bryce’s. If you are one of these boys, please know that a time will come when you’ll be free to live an openly gay life, and accepted by your friends for who you really are.

I was up early this morning. I devoted 2-1/2 hours to edits on my novel-in-progress, and now it’s 11:30 AM. I’ll read the newspaper, and then after lunch, I’ll visit the YMCA in the city for a workout and lap-swimming session, my first in a week, due to the medical procedure I had performed on me last Wednesday. I’m feeling great, and looking forward to the rest of my day. I’m not sure what I’ll do with my evening, but that’s okay. Have a nice Monday, everyone, and try to keep smiling, even if not everything in your life is rosy. 🙂

Another sexy rent boy; nice night on the island ….

Hi, friends and readers:

What’s better than a sexy rent boy beckoning you to join him for a swim in the pool? Answer: nothing. Imagine spending an afternoon with him on pool deck chaises?

“Andre, I can’t wait to get you into our hotel room. You know what’s in store right?”  😉

“Yes, Martin, I do.”

I had a good run today, around four PM. Okay, it was hot and humid, but a nice breeze blew, and I did the entire two miles with no problem.

After my run, I drank two beers before climbing into the shower. Then I hit our island seafood market for fresh shrimp. I cooked my favorite shrimp and pasta dish, flavored with fresh herbs from my garden, and combined with a fresh spinach salad. The meal was delicious, and then a friend and I visited my timeshare for a swim in the pool and a soak in the hot tub. The night was breezy and cool. What a great way to cap off my Sunday.

Sleep well, friends. 😉
