If you follow this site then you know I live in a beach community on Florida’s Gulf coast, west of St. Petersburg. This time of year is Spring Break season, and tons of college boys will crowd the shore, but you’ll never see a single one wearing a Speedo-style swimsuit like the guys in these photos.
I’ve spent considerable time in Europe, and over there you’ll see guys in skimpy suits all the time, but never here in the U.S., unless you visit a gay beach. American men are just too modest about their bodies.
I spent a pleasant evening with two friends last night, after spending most of the day in my car, picking up my boat from the Suzuki dealer and getting it back on the water. Thankfully, I had help from a young man who lives near the marina where I keep the boat, and everything went smoothly. When I got home, I took a two-mile run, and after I shower I drove into the city. My friends and I drank beer and yakked away. Then we dined on takeout pizza and salad from our favorite pizza place. The food was tasty, and so was the company, and I didn’t get home until 9:30 PM.
I got to bed last night around eleven, but ended up sleeping late this morning, until 9:30. Now I’m taking care of correspondence and I will work on edits for my novel-in-progress before lunch. Then I’ll head back into town to visit the YMCA for a workout and lap-swimming session. Outside it’s so beautiful–72 degrees, sunny and dry, with only a light breeze. I wish this weather would last all year long. 🙂
All right, everyone, I need to get busy, so I will wish you all a very pleasant Friday, wherever you might be today. 🙂
