Hi, friends and readers:
I have almost no experience with cruise ships, and I’ve only been to South America once, so I’m about to embark on a fresh experience today. I fly to Miami first, then to Santiago, Chile, where I will spend two nights with a university student at a nice hotel. Then I’ll take a shuttle to the coast and board the ship for a 15-day cruise up the Pacific coast to San Diego.
So, I am fully packed and ready to go. A taxi will pick me up mid-afternoon and whisk me to Tampa International, and tomorrow morning I will land in Santiago.
Recently, someone asked me if traveling alone bothered me. I said, “When I broke up with my last partner it did. But now, two years later, I’m fine with traveling by myself. I’m an outgoing person and I make friends easily. So, I never feel lonely.”
Oh, and two longtime friends of mine will join me on the cruise, though we are taking separate flights, as I wanted a couple of days to spend in Santiago before I board the ship. They have a cabin five doors from mine, so I’ll have company whenever I want it.
Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and three places in Mexico are all places I have not been to, and I am excited. I’m excited about meeting Jorge, as well. 😉
I’ll post again around April ninth, friends. Stay well. 🙂
