Boys fast asleep; quiet Sunday in store for Martin ….

Hi, friends and readers:

When I lived in my fraternity house in college, I shared a room with a boy named John who came from a south Florida town called Homestead. John was extremely good looking, with an athletic build, chestnut hair and chiseled facial features. I have never been a nap-taker, I can’t sleep during the day. But John took naps almost every afternoon, either naked or wearing only a pair of tight-fitting briefs.

I always liked watching John snooze. He looked so…vulnerable and innocent, kind of like the guys in this morning’s photo posts. I could watch either of these guys sleep for hours.

After I had dinner last night, a friend came over with a bottle of red wine and we had a nice visit. We had attended a celebration of life yesterday afternoon, and I think it put both of us in a reflective mood. I was happy for the company, and we enjoyed the fireplace blaze. After he went home, I climbed into bed with the novel I am presently reading, John Irving’s In One Person. The book’s main character is a bisexual boy in his mid-to-late teens who is exploring his desire for other boys, and for transsexual women. It’s a fine book.

Anyway, I read for about an hour before going to sleep, and then I didn’t wake up until 9:30 this morning. Why I slept so long I don’t know. But I feel rested and ready for the day’s activities. I plan on taking a three-mile walk, here on the island. I have some light yard word and house work to take care of, and I’ll read the Sunday paper. Maybe tonight I will visit my timeshare to soak in the hot tub.

Have a nice Sunday, everyone.
