Ever attended a triathlon? Well, I have and I can tell you some of the sights you’ll see are nothing short of amazing, especially right after the half-mile swim when the guys come out of the water wearing Speedo swimsuits with water streaming down their limbs.
Me, I’d like to be the guy who writes numbers on the participants’ arms and legs with a Sharpie. 😉
I spent a great evening with my friends, drinking a few craft beers and dining on high-end barbecue at a new place downtown that’s getting rave reviews, and for good reason. The food was outstanding. I had brisket and smoked turkey, along with baked beans and Cole slaw. The meal was amazing and I had plenty of leftovers to take home. 🙂
I didn’t stay up to long after I got home, but for some reason I slept really late today, till almost 9:30 AM, which disrupted my writing routine. And just as I sat down to write, the power went out in my area, and stayed off until well past eleven. 🙁 That meant I had to reset my router and then reset all my digital clocks in the house, but now everything’s back to normal.
It’s a picture perfect day, here on the island: sunny, with a light breeze, and a temperature of 72 degrees F. Right after lunch, I plant to take a three-mile walk to enjoy the weather, and then I’ll have some yard work to attend to.
I don’t have much planned for the rest of my day, other than watching some NFL playoff action and building a blaze in my patio fire pit. I want to enjoy this cool weather while we have it.
All right, everyone, I need to fix my lunch, and then take my walk, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a wonderful Saturday, wherever you might be spending it. And keep smiling, it’s important.
