I’m not a huge football fan, I don’t spend my fall weekends glued to the TV, watching one game after another. But I spent my undergraduate college days at University of Florida and I enjoy watching the Gators play each year.
Once a year, if I can land a pair of tickets, I like to attend a home game in Gainesville, and today a good friend and I will drive up there to watch the Gators play South Carolina (a/k/a “The Cocks”) on Saturday afternoon. The weather’s supposed to be sunny and cool, and I’ve rented an apartment only six blocks from campus, so I’m really looking forward to this weekend.
I spent Thursday evening at my friend’s house. The weather was perfect on his elevated deck. We drank a few beers and dined on Mexican takeout that was excellent. I got home around nine PM and it wasn’t long before I climbed into bed with a book. I was tired from the week’s ordeal with my left hand, I think. My hand is still sore this morning, but it’s looking less swollen today, so that’s good.
Outside, it’s another beautiful fall day. I’ll need to water my houseplants this morning, and I still need to pack for the trip to Gainesville. I have some correspondence to take care of, and a few bills to pay, and then I’m all set for the trip.
All right, friends, I need to get busy, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a great weekend, wherever you may be sending it. Happy Friday, and … GO GATORS !!!! 🙂
