If you follow this site regularly, then you know I live in a beach community on Florida’s west coast. The Gulf of Mexico is less than 100 yards from my front door, and I never tire of visiting the shore for long walks, especially on weekends when tons of hot young men flock to the water. They run around in swim trunks, showing off their youthful physiques while my tongue drags along the sand. 😉
Anyway, I haven’t visited the beach much lately because of the Red Tide that invaded our part of the Gulf around the first of September, just after I returned from Europe. It’s been too stinky down there, from all the dead fish, and the Red Tide also irritates your breathing passages and makes you cough. 🙁
It’s four PM right now, and I’ve had a busy day. I wrote fresh material all morning. Then, after lunch, I visited the wine market and the supermarket to replenish my supplies. I also visited our neighborhood seafood market to buy fresh grouper for a dinner I will serve a friend and myself this evening. It’ll be yummy, and maybe afterward we’ll watch a Netflix movie for entertainment.
When I returned home around two o’clock, I put on my work clothes and spent 2-1/2 hours working in the yard, raking leaves, trimming shrubs, and tidying my patios. I potted four new plants, and now the place looks great inside and out. It’s a beautiful night, here on the island–sunny, dry, and about eighty degrees, just perfect fall weather.
All right, friends, I need to hop in the shower, so I will close this post by wishing all of you a wonderful Tuesday evening. And keep smiling, it’s important. 🙂
