I live in a beach community on Florida’s Gulf Coast. It’s a wonderful place to dwell, but on the weekends things get a little hectic when all the folks from the city come out here to enjoy the surf and sand. Traffic gets crazy and it’s not safe for me to take my usual two-mile run. I’d probably get run over if I tried. But the payoff is when I take a three-mile walk on the beach and I get to view all the lovely college boys running around in swim trunks. I see some pretty amazing sights, much like the guy to the left here. I’d play ball with him all afternoon if he asked me to. 😉
Well, I spent a pleasant evening with a friend yesterday. the baked grouper dinner I served was delicious. We swam in the Gulf and lounged on my elevated deck afterward, enjoying the evening breeze and watching sailboats cruise by on the Intracoastal Waterway.
I have much to do this afternoon. Tomorrow, a friend and I will drive 80 miles northward to spend a few days at my fishing camp. The camp is located on an acre-sized island that can only be reached by boat. We’ll do some fishing tomorrow. Then on Tuesday we’ll go scalloping in the Gulf, always a fun activity with tasty rewards.
Preparing for such a trip takes time. I have to pack up food, clothing, booze and toiletry items. I have a list of items I always need to bring, because once we’re up there we are almost an hour away from the nearest store. So I will spend the better part of this afternoon getting things ready for the trip. Once I am done I will take a three-mile walk on the beach to soak up the ambiance. 😉 I wonder if I will see Mr. Sunglasses (See above photo.) down there? I sure hope so. 😉
Have a nice Sunday, everyone.
